Trade not aid! If President Trump isn’t going to open up trade for Wisconsin’s dairy farmers, the head of the American Dairy Coalition says it’s time that they get paid.
The coalition’s Laurie Fischer yesterday wrote a letter to the President that said farmers would always prefer trade to aid, but she says there’s not enough trade. Fischer also said the last round of aid amounted to only about 250-million-dollars for dairy farmers.
She says the tariff tit-for-tat with China, Canada, and Mexico have cost dairy farmers nearly two-billion-dollars.
