Strike Avoided, Deal Reached

B & G Foods workers are avoiding a strike.

The union representing workers at the manufacturing facility in Stoughton announced yesterday a contract has been ratified, just weeks after the same workers authorized a strike.  Officials explained the new contract includes a 19-percent wage increase, plus better working conditions, health covered, and an improved vacation system.  Members of the union had voted to go on strike at the end of March.
