Ridglan Farms in Blue Mounds has refused to settle a 55-thousand dollar civil forfeiture involving hundreds of alleged violations.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection confirmed on Friday that the dog breeder’s cases was now going to be referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office. Ridglan Farms had been facing criticism from lawmakers and animal welfare groups after inspection records were released. The DATCP cited it for over 300 violations including unsafe enclosures and improper documentation.
