One of Eau Claire’s state representatives is once again asking for the HSHS money.
State Rep. Jodi Emerson yesterday said the legislature needs to release the 15-million-dollars that was set aside to help other hospitals in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls deal with Sacred Heart and St. Joe’s closings earlier this year. She said the Chippewa Valley cannot afford any more delays. Republican lawmakers say Emerson needs to blame Governor Evers for the delay. He changed the plan to spend the money, and no longer wants to earmark the cash strictly for ER services to make-up for a lack of emergency care without Sacred Heart or St. Joe’s.
