More than 14-thousand absentee ballots are headed toward Madison residents by mail for the August Partisan Primary.
Voters will only be able to vote for candidates in the party they select once they get their ballot. Absentee ballots envelopes must be sealed and signed by both a voter and a voter’s witness, and returned in time to be delivered for counting at a polling place.
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway says it isn’t too late to request a ballot online. In-person absentee voting will start on July 30.
