The jury should get the case today against a former Milwaukee police officer accused of choking a man to death.
Former officer Michael Mattioli was the last person to testify at his trial yesterday. He told jurors that he did not choke Joel Acevedo during a fight at his house in April of 2020. Prosecutors say Mattioli put Acevedo in a rear naked chokehold, but Mattioli says he was simply trying to get control of him. Both the prosecution and defense will present closing arguments this morning, the jury will start deliberations.
