A plan to protect Wisconsin election workers is moving ahead at the Wisconsin Capitol. An Assembly panel heard testimony on the plan last week.
Both Republicans and Democrats agree they want to do more to keep front line election workers safe. The new plan includes safeguards for personal information, spells out that online harassment of election workers is illegal, and makes it a felony to assault an election worker. The protection plan is one of the few 2020-related election proposals that may become law this year.
