Wisconsin State Representative Janel Brandtjen is now running for an open state senate seat.
The Republican was recently banned from participating in closed caucus meetings, with Wisconsin Assembly Republican Caucus Chair Rob Summerfield saying the party has lost trust in her. However Brendtjen will now try to move over to the Wisconsin Senate and fill the seat made vacant by the retiring Senator Alberta Darling. The special election to fill her seat will be April 4th and the Republican Primary is February 21st. She’s one of three Republicans that’ve announced they’re running for the seat.
