Blinding morning sun is blamed for a three-car chain-reaction crash in Grant County.
The Sheriff’s Office said all three cars were headed north on Highway 133 in the Village of Blue Ridge around 9 a.m. Friday when the lead car, a Subaru Legacy slowed down because a vehicle ahead was turning. A Ford Fusion behind the Subaru slowed down as well, but a woman driving a Chevrolet Impala told investigating officers she couldn’t see the two slowing cars because the sun blinded her and she ran into the back of the Ford, which then rear-ended the Subaru. The woman driving the Chevy was taken to the hospital with an injured ankle, the other drivers weren’t hurt.
Grant County Sheriff Nate Druckman said no one is being charged in the wreck.
