As the days stretch forward and recovery continues on the long road ahead in Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, there are innumerable stories of tragedy and destruction.
For this week’s Friday Feel Good we look to find the light amidst the darkness and meet a family who found reason to celebrate despite the loss.
A little girl named Anna was about to turn 3, but with a shortage due to the hurricane, there were no cakes handy for the party that her parents were hoping to throw for foer, despite the devastation.
That’s when a Publix bakery employee out of Florida helped a girl get a cake for her third birthday when supplies were low because of Hurricane Ian.
Initially Caroline Rollins was told there were no cakes available for her daughter Anna . . . but minutes later Publix employee Natasha went above and beyond to find a cake for the little girl.
Proving that in nearly all moments there are reminders of how sweet it is.
