Eau Claire Schools are asking taxpayers for nearly 100 million-dollars this fall.
The city’s school board last night approved a 98 million-dollar referendum question. The plan is to renovate and upgrade Memorial and North High Schools, South Middle, and Putnam Heights Elementary School. There are also plans to add on to fields at several schools as well. School Board president Tim Nordin says people will need to pay more to continue to have the schools they want in Eau Claire. It’s likely not the last tax hike request either, Nordin says they will have to address Eau Claire Schools’ operation costs in about two years.
