Wildlife Center Takes Steps To Protect Cranes

A wildlife center is taking measures to protect its cranes from the current bird flu outbreak.

Doctor Barry Hartup with the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo says the center’s four rare crane species are being moved from open air exhibits back to winter enclosures. The move comes as a way to keep the birds from contracting the bird flu virus from wild waterfowl.   The center’s Cranes of the World exhibit will be open this year from May 1st through October 31st.
