WI COVID-19 Cases Trend Down

The seven-day average for new coronavirus cases and hospitalizations is trending downward in Wisconsin. 

However, the state Department of Health Services reports the death rate is rising.  The seven-day average for new cases is about 18-hundred a day, for deaths the average is 13, and the seven-day positive test rate is seven-point-three percent.

The CDC says with the exception of one county, the rest of Wisconsin remains at high risk for coronavirus transmission.  The one place that has dropped from high risk to substantial risk is Dane County.  It’s also the most vaccinated county.  About 74-and-a-half percent of eligible residents having received one dose and nearly 72-percent are fully vaccinated.
