UW-Madison is getting three-quarters of a million-dollars to study how to fight misinformation on Facebook and Twitter.
The university’s school of journalism announced the grant yesterday. Professor Mike Wagner is going to study the best way to promote fact checkers and fight misinformation. Though no one is saying just what misinformation they are looking to fight. The plan is to buy ads on both platforms and see which is the best way to counter the information they don’t like.
