There’s more criticism for Wisconsin’s unemployment office.
State Rep. Barb Dittrich on Friday blasted the Department of Workforce Development for its handling of unemployment overpayments. Dittrich says DWD is sending notices about overpayments to thousands of people, but it is not answering questions or allowing people to appeal their fines. In some cases, Dittrich says people are getting their letters after the date DWD set for a repayment plan. Dittrich says DWD cannot continue to mistreat the people of Wisconsin. The state’s unemployment office faced similar criticism last year for being too slow and not processing unemployment benefits for thousands of people, many had to wait months to get a check from the state.
