There’s already a redistricting lawsuit in Wisconsin.
A handful of voters filed the lawsuit on Friday, claiming the state’s current political map is unconstitutionally out of date. The suit asks the federal court to draw a new political map. Lawmakers are supposed to do that. But, Democrats and advocate groups in Wisconsin don’t want Republicans to draw a map that favors their party. Wisconsin lawmakers drew the current map after the 2010 Census, but the court ordered them to tweak two assembly districts because of gerrymandering concerns.
