One of the two city of Eau Claire workers who spent Menards gift cards that should have gone to the city will not spend any time behind bars.
Jason Palmer pleaded guilty last week to misdemeanor theft charges. He can see his record erased after 40 hours of community service and a year of staying out of trouble. The other man resigned rather than be fired, and Palmer was placed on unpaid leave.
