Masks Come Off, Vaccines Continue in WI Counties

Masks are no longer required in most state buildings.

About two weeks ago, Governor Evers set today as the target to end mask requirements as the state continues to follow the recommendations from the CDC.  People who are fully vaccinated can go without masks and for the most part do not have to maintain social distancing indoors or outdoors.  However, all unvaccinated people are advised to wear a mask or face covering in state facilities.

State vaccination data shows that Pfizer has been the most administered COVID-19 vaccine statewide.

Nearly two-point-eight-million Pfizer doses have been administered in Wisconsin, compared to two-point-two-million doses of the Moderna vaccine.  There have been about 209-thousand Johnson & Johnson doses administered.

When it comes to where people are sitting for the jab, health officials say Dane, Door and Bayfield counties have the most vaccinated residents against COVID-19 in the state.

Dane County has nearly 58-percent of its residents fully vaccinated, while Door County has just over 58-percent of its residents having completed the vaccine series.  In Northwest Wisconsin in Bayfield County, over 53-percent of residents have completed vaccinations.
