Lawmaker Pushes for World Dairy Expo to Stay in ‘Sconnie

One of Wisconsin’s dairy farmer-lawmakers is warning Governor Evers that the state could be losing one of its biggest gems.

State Rep. Travis Tranel yesterday delivered a letter to Governor Evers that pleads with him not to lose the World Dairy Expo. The Expo is the world’s largest dairy show and draws nearly 70 thousand people from over 100 counties to Madison each year. But Expo managers say they may take the show somewhere else because of Madison’s limits on crowds. Tranel said if the World Dairy Expo leaves Wisconsin, chances are it will never come back. He says that will cost Wisconsin as a dairy innovator and leader.
