Any agreement for a coronavirus relief package out of the Wisconsin Capitol has evaporated.
A number of top Republicans in the state Assembly yesterday said they will not support the coronavirus relief plan from the state Senate that Governor Evers has said he will sign. Assembly Republican second in command Jim Steineke says he can’t support anything that doesn’t reopen schools and churches while continuing to allow low public health bosses to keep bars and restaurants closed.
The Senate package is much smaller than what the Assembly wants.
