VP Pence in Eau Claire; Message of Jobs, Vaccine, Supreme Court Pick

During his stop in Eau Claire the Vice President talked about jobs, a COVID-19 vaccine and more. While at Midwest Manufacturing he was met with a crowd supporting the message of Made in America.

Vice President Mike Pence says the U.S. has added millions of jobs in the past three years.

Pence says wages have been rising at the fastest pace in the last ten years, especially for blue collar workers.  Pence added Wisconsin has already recovered half of the jobs it lost due to the pandemic and is on its way back.

Vice President Mike Pence touted Trump as a great believer in American manufacturing.

Vice President Mike Pence says the development of a COVID-19 vaccine started before many Americans had even heard of coronavirus and that it should be ready before the end of the year, setting a record for the speed of vaccine development.  He says before the first documented case of the virus in the U.S., President Trump blocked all travel from China.  He praised Trump for saving American lives and launching the largest national mobilization since World War Two.  Pence’s comments come amid concern development of a vaccine could be politically motivated, and rushed before it’s both safe and effective in light of the upcoming election.

And then, it was to the bench. Vice President Mike Pence says President Trump will nominate a woman to the Supreme Court.

Pence’s comment at an event in Wisconsin comes amid speculation over Trump’s short list that includes two women, Amy Coney Barrett and Barbara Lagoa.  There’s also controversy over the confirmation of a Supreme Court justice so close to a presidential election.  Trump is planning to fill the spot left vacant by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg last week.  He will announce his nomination Saturday.
