A petition addressed to the Eau Claire planning commission is close to earning its goal for signatures.
The petition was started by the owners of two local bars facing losses if the city follows through with a proposal to build a new development. Galloway Grille and Scooters Bar share a patio and parking lot, and the owners say the city’s proposed development project would hurt them financially.
The city’s planning commission is having a hearing on the proposal tonight at 7.
