Wisconsin dairy farmers are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pepin County Dairy Promotion Chair Randy Koller says the industry is experiencing a surplus because a lot of product is used in restaurants that are now closed. The Pepin County Dairy Promotion Council yesterday donated 100-gallons of milk to the Durand Food Pantry, and it was given away in only 15-minutes.
Both the Durand Area Food Pantry and Pepin County Dairy Promotion say they didn’t know what to expect from the giveaway of milk and cheese, but it’s something they’ll consider doing again.
