LAWMAKERS SET TO VOTE ON ADDICTION HELP

The Wisconsin State Assembly looks ready to provide more help for people battling opioid addiction.

Lawmakers are set to vote today on a series of proposed laws that offer help to local communities and people fighting opioid overdoses. One of the proposals would make it easier for county jails to buy and use Narcan for prisoners. Another proposal would tweak the state’s Medicaid rules to both cover acupuncture and cover the costs of peer-recovery coaches.

The Republicans who control the Assembly support the ideas.
