Measles Cases on Rise

State health officials are reporting a significant increase in measles cases tied to an outbreak in southwestern Wisconsin.

The Department of Health Services says confirmed cases in Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties jumped from 42 on Tuesday to 92 on Friday, with six additional probable cases. Health officials say the investigation indicates measles is spreading locally, though no public exposure locations requiring broader public notification have been identified. Wisconsin has reported 100 measles cases statewide so far this year.
