Authorities in Brown County are warning residents about a check fraud scheme reported across Wisconsin.
Investigators say payments mailed to Discover Financial in Illinois are being intercepted, washed and rewritten for larger amounts. Several law enforcement agencies are now coordinating with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
