A former Wausau hair stylist has plead not guilty after being charged with 38 counts of theft.
Jennifer Brooks is accused of defrauding clients out of more than 36-thousand dollars. An investigation into the thefts began in January 2023 after officers were told she would ask customers for pre-payment before doing their hair, money for bills, or tell clients the payment hadn’t gone through even if it had. She appeared in court Wednesday and is in custody on a ten-thousand dollar cash bond. Brooks’ next court appearance is July 7th.
