EC County Recognizes National Treatment Court Month, Local Successes

May is National Treatment Court Month, and Eau Claire County is proud to recognize the
continued impact of treatment courts in supporting recovery, strengthening families, and enhancing
community safety.

In 2025, Eau Claire County’s treatment courts diverted 2,283 jail days, providing individuals with the
opportunity to engage in treatment and structured support rather than incarceration. A total of 51
individuals were served, with a graduation rate of 53%, exceeding the national benchmark of 50%.
Treatment courts offer a proven alternative to traditional justice system responses by combining
accountability with access to treatment and services. These programs are designed to address the
underlying factors contributing to justice system involvement, particularly substance use and mental
health challenges.

“By focusing on treatment and long-term stability, we are not only supporting individuals in their recovery, but all strengthening families and improving outcomes across our community,” said Brianna Marsden, Social Work Manager with the Eau Claire County Department of Human Services. “These efforts also create meaningful efficiencies across the system by reducing reliance on incarceration and allowing resources to be used more effectively.” CIICK HERE FOR MORE.
