A former western Wisconsin teacher is headed to prison for sexually assaulting a student two years ago.
A judge in Trempealeau County yesterday sentenced Nicholas Bergeron to one year behind bars. Prosecutors say he inappropriately touched students while working at Osseo-Fairchild High School. A 15-year-old girl told police he touched her knees, thigh, back, shoulders, hands and back side. Other students made similar claims.
Bergeron will not be allowed back in a classroom once he serves his sentence.
