The Wisconsin State Patrol, Barron County Sheriff’s Office, and Rusk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi-tractor-trailer vs SUV crash with injuries on Highway 8 near CTH M.
Preliminary evidence from the crash scene indicates the tractor-trailer was traveling eastbound on Highway 8. An oncoming SUV was traveling westbound when it lost control and crossed the centerline. The vehicles collided. The SUV traveled into the ditch after impact and the tractor-trailer came to rest across both highway lanes. Life-saving measures were administered but the driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
