UW regents are meeting today to possibly reconsider that deal with Republicans over university pay raises.
The meeting comes after regents voted down the deal on Saturday, and after top Republicans at the Capitol yesterday said the deal is their final offer. The offer would have the UW repurpose about 40 DEI administrators in exchange for pay raises for 35 thousand UW workers, a new engineering building at the Madison campus, and millions more for other needs. Regents, on Saturday, said the deal ‘sold-out’ minorities for a couple of million dollars.
