Public schools in Wisconsin are getting even more money from the state’s Common School Fund.
Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski yesterday said the Common School Fund netted 65 million-dollars this year. That’s 13 million more than last year. All of the money is earmarked for school libraries across the state. The Common School Fund gets its money from the sale of public lands that have been set aside to pay for educational needs in Wisconsin.
The Secretary of State says the Common School Fund is often the only source of new money for some school libraries in the state.
