The Department of Health Services would certify the centers, which would be publicly available 24-7. Ten-million-dollars already budgeted for mental health would pay for the centers. At a legislative committee meeting Wednesday, community members and senators critiqued current crisis response – reporting hours-long drives to find resources and calling police as the only option for mental health emergencies.
