The St. Croix County Emergency Communication Center received a call at about 3:20 p.m. on August 3, 2023, of a crash with injuries between two vehicles in the 1000 block of County Road T, in Hammond Township.
Deputies arrived on scene and located a 2018 Ford Transit van operated by Andrew W. Klanderman, age 29, from Baldwin WI, had been traveling south bound on County Road T. Evidence at the scene shows Mr. Klanderman’s vehicle crossed the center line, striking a 2003 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, operated by Steven J. Olson, age 69, from New Richmond WI, which was traveling northbound on County Road T.
Mr. Olson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Hammond Police Department, Baldwin EMS, United Fire, and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.
This incident remains under investigation.
