Project Hope Quick Response Team Joining First-Ever National ‘Day of Deflection’

In Dunn County Project Hope Quick Response Team announces their participation in the first National “Day of Deflection” on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

The National “Day of Deflection” is a multistate effort to highlight the impact of deflection work in communities nationwide and the importance of local and multistate partnerships. The National Day of Deflection will occur during the first-ever PTACC (Police Treatment and Community Collaborative) “National Deflection Week,” July 16-23, 2023.

On July 19, deflection teams and sites in communities across the country will join together to conduct planned deflection efforts during the National “Day of Deflection.”. The Project Hope Quick Response Team (QRT) will be conducting outreach activities to individuals who may be struggling with Substance Use or Mental Health Disorders. The goal will be to offer information on a variety of services and resources that are available to residents in Dunn County. For willing individuals, immediate referrals and connections will be made. As a follow-up event, the QRT will be at Walmart in Menomonie on Friday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. offering literature,

Deflection teams and sites in communities from 11 states – Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, and West Virginia – are expected to participate in the National “Day of Deflection.” Each team or site participating in this “Day of Deflection” can plan whatever deflection-related event or activity they wish.
