Mississippi River Flooding Forces Evacuations

Flooding along the Mississippi River is forcing some Grant County families to evacuate. 

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Mississippi and surrounding tributaries on Saturday.  The county’s Emergency Management Services Department, the flooding is predicted to be the second-highest flood crest ever.  Emergency officials don’t expect the river to crest until next Saturday and Sunday but high water has already forced road closures on County Highway X between Bagley and Wyalusing and County Highway C between Highway 18 and Barker Hollow Road.
