Bail on the Ballot Moves Forward

Wisconsin’s bail reform amendment is taking another step toward the spring ballot today.

The proposed constitutional amendment will be before the full State Senate later today. Lawmakers already approved the plan, which would allow judges in the state to consider how dangerous a suspect is while setting bail, once before. Republicans at the Capitol want to approve it a second time in enough time to get the amendment on the April ballot.
