Wrong Way Crash Remains Under Investigation

On 10/30/2022 at approximately 12:32 am, the Wisconsin State Patrol, St. Croix Sheriffs Department, Hudson Police Department, and Roberts Police Department responded to a call of a wrong-way driver on I-94.

The initial investigation indicates a Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it struck a Toyota Rav4 at milepost 4 blocking all westbound lanes. Upon arrival it was discovered there were multiple injuries including one fatality, Mark Douglas Filbrandt, a 54-year-old male from Robbinsdale, Minnesota.

The Trooper observed signs of impairment in the driver of the Toyota Corolla. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety tests, showed 31-year-old Amber Lea Pospisil from Alexandria, Minnesota was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Ms. Pospisil was arrested and transported to Hudson Hospital for an evidentiary test of her blood and then to the St. Croix Jail.

The crash and OWI remain under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
