Man Facing Charges After Puppies Rescued

A Hubertus man is looking at charges after animal rescuers say he was selling puppies out of the back of his pickup truck.

Prosecutors in Washington County last week filed charges against 34-year-old Colton Brooder.  He’s accused of animal mistreatment.  Police got a tip about Brooder after someone said he had 20 puppies in the bed of his truck, and another 20 in the cab.  In all, animal rescuers took 50 puppies from Brooder.  They’ve all been adopted to new homes while Brooder waits for trial.
