We could get some more clarity this week about the rules for so-called forever chemicals in Wisconsin.
A judge in Waukesha has a hearing scheduled this afternoon in a case dealing with PFAS chemicals. The state’s largest business group, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, is challenging orders from the state for businesses to clean-up the chemicals from their land and water because of possible contamination.
WMC says the state doesn’t have any defined standards for PFAS pollution, and wants the rules spelled-out before more companies are ordered to perform more clean-ups.
