Eau Claire officials say they’re continuing to press for a solution to the persistent reports of criminal activity at the Regency Hotel on Hastings Way.
Most recently, the hotel was the scene of a confrontation between police and a man who was driving a stolen car. Following a high-speed chase, John Martin was arrested and is charged with several offenses, including resisting arrest. Eau Claire city officials have gone to court to close the hotel or find a new owner. The current owner says he has several interested buyers.
