Eau Claire County will soon have a new sheriff for the first time in 26 years.
Sheriff Ron Cramer yesterday said he will not run for re-election this fall. Cramer said it is time for him to ride off into the sunset. There’s no word who may step-up and run to replace him. Cramer has served in the sheriff’s office since 1975, and has been sheriff since 1996. His last day will be in January of next year.
