UW Stout Hits Goal, WI Vaccinations Dip

UW-Stout has gotten its 70 for 70 celebration.

UW President Tommy Thompson stopped by campus yesterday to celebrate their vaccine milestone. The university says Stout hit 70 percent vaccinated about two weeks ago. That means students at Stout are now eligible for some of the half-million dollars in scholarship money for the state’s small campuses. UW-Eau Claire is also eligible.

Overall, Wisconsin’s coronavirus vaccination numbers continue to fall.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said doctors and nurses handed-out just over 35 thousand doses last week. That’s down from 38 thousand the week before, and 48 thousand doses two weeks ago. Wisconsin’s coronavirus vaccine count has been on a downward trajectory since the end of August. DHS says just over 57 percent of people in the state have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine.
