National Fire Prevention Week

National Fire Prevention Week

It is National Fire Prevention Week and first responders across Wisconsin are urging residents to know what to do when a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm sounds.

This year the fire protection campaign encourages people to learn the sounds of fire safety.  Officials say when an alarm makes noise and is beeping or chirping you need to take action.  It’s also important to consider somebody who is hard of hearing or deaf in your home so alarms can include strobe lights.  The U.S. Fire Administration says there have been 33 residential fire deaths in Wisconsin this year.
