Mask Debate Continues in WI Counties

Public health managers in Madison and Dane County are pushing back on the idea that county leaders and voters will have some say over the county’s mask mandate.

County supervisor Jeff Weigand recently filed a resolution to end the mask mandate. Weigand wants the county’s board of health to come before the county board and listen to comments from the public before issuing any new orders.

The county’s board of health says they look at the data when deciding things like mask requirements and other coronavirus mitigation efforts. Madison and Dane County’s latest mask order is in place until October.
