A woman who stole thousands of dollars from Eau Claire County is looking at community service and a chance to wipe her record clean.
A judge yesterday sentenced Zer Smith to 20 days of community service for spending over 10 thousand-dollars in county money on herself. Investigators say Smith used her county credit card to buy groceries, clothes, and other personal items. In addition to the community service, Smith has to repay the county the 10 thousand-dollars. If she does that, and doesn’t commit any new crimes, the court will erase the felony charges from her record.
