August Jobs Fall Short of Estimates

A disappointing August jobs report is out.

The Labor Department reports the economy added only 235-thousand jobs last month.  That’s far short of analysts’ estimate of up to 750-thousand and less than one-fourth of the 943-thousand new jobs in July.  The unemployment rate fell to five-point-two percent, down from five-point-four percent in July.
