WIAA Throws the Flag on Shortages

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association says they are in “crisis mode” as the total number of licensed officials has dropped dramatically over the past year.

To date, the WIAA is reporting nearly 14-hundred less officials on staff than a year ago.  That’s a 39-percent decline from ten years ago.  As the high school football season kicks off across the state, there are more than 540 fewer officials able to work games.
