A Milwaukee man is heading to prison for three years for trying to scam the federal government out of more than a half-million dollars.
A judge yesterday sentenced 42-year-old Stephen Smith to three years behind bars. Smith pleaded guilty back in April to filing false Paycheck Protection claims to try and get 600-thousand-dollars from the federal government. Prosecutors say he inflated the payroll for his companies.
