WI Supreme Court Tells State To Leave Voter Rolls Alone

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul says today’s court decision regarding deactivating thousands of voter registrations is a win for voters.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled five-to-two that it’s not the job of the state Elections Commission to deactivate voter registrations if voters move, but rather the responsibility of municipal election officials.  Attorney General Kaul says the argument that the state Election Commission had a duty to deactivate thousands of registered voters was based on a “plainly incorrect reading of the law.”
